just another day

My day today was quite good though a little bit productive. :)

I’ve been sharing a room with my cousin and my sister in the city and I guess the moment I will make a mess in their small rented room, they’re going to kick my ass out. Since they are usually out around 7-7:30 am, I have the luxury of time to simply lounge around, surf the net and check out the latest Hollywood gossips among others. Of course, I will never miss out facebooking and friendstering. (hahaha)

Browsing the net, I updated myself on the news re: an Austrian dad who held her daughter prisoner(in a windowless cell) for nearly 24 years and fathered 7 children by her. It was the worst case I ever heard and that dad really is a MONSTER. He deserves to be punished in a worst, humiliating way there could ever be.

Were the graduates of Harvard University this year lucky enough to have J.K. Rowling as the guest speaker during their commencement exercise? Well, some graduating seniors were grousing that Rowling wasn’t worthy to be the featured speaker and that they are entitled to get anyone. I reckon “anyone” for some of them would be the great leaders in the world. Rowling follows a long line of bigwigs like George Marshall, Bill Gates, Kofi Annan and the likes.

Anyway, I took time to read Rowling’s speech and I’d say it’s very inspirational. She stressed out on the power of imagination and how it can bring people to other people’s places. I believe that it does not really matter who the keynote speaker is, whether he/she is the king of the world or just an imaginative writer like J.k. Rowling, what matters most is how he/she inspires the young people of today to do better, dream more and act on it.

"We do not need magic to transform the world. We carry all the power we need inside ourselves already. We have power to imagine better."
