20-29th (Looking Back)

Ok, I am now 30 and I am daring myself to try out new adventures in life.  I am pretty sure that my journey will be exciting and challenging at the same time.

Anyway, I just want to look back on the (happy, sad, challenging) experiences, events and accomplishments that I have which started right after I left the portals of college.

Here goes:

KPIS Preschool Dep
:-)  I graduated on time and I got a job a month after graduation. Although it only lasted for 6 months, I can say that I have learned to value my time and my hard-earned salary.

:-) After my brief stint in that company, I decided to take up Professional Education because I wanted to teach in preschool or high school. After I finished taking all the subject courses, I took and passed the Licensure Examination for teachers.

as a Nursery teacher
:) While reviewing for LET, I applied in a Chinese school (Oro Christian Grace School) in the city and got a job as a part time admin secretary and a team teacher in Kinder 1 at the same time.

:)  While working in that Chinese school, I also enrolled in Sped (Special Education) and finished it after a year and 1 summer.

:)  And oh, I was prolly 21 or 22 when I fell in love with this guy. I thought I’d end up being married to him but things did not work out for both of us. I was lost for a time and found myself sinking and drifting like a lonely gray cloud.

:)  After a year in OCGS, I decided to try my luck overseas. That summer, I packed my life into boxes and moved to Bangkok, Thailand. It was my first time to travel all by myself. I guess being heart-broken and all made me stronger and I was really dead-set in moving forward with a happy heart.

:)  I stayed and shared a condo unit along Ramkamhaeng Road with my two dear friends, Myalee French and Dara Factura. These two people will be forever in my heart and I cherish the friendship that we have all the years of my life.

:)  With my formal attire (a formal suit and high heeled shoes), I hailed a bus with my heels on and went from one school to the other. I was a walk-in applicant and luckily after 1 week, I got a job in an international school in Bangkok. Two international schools accepted me but I chose the bigger one.

:)  I met a lot of friends while in Bangkok and I learned a lot from my co-teachers who came from different countries/nationalities; Thai, British, Chinese and Americans

:) I had a huge crush on this British teacher who taught Math in high school. During our team building, we got to dance together with the tune (You’re just too good to be true, can’t take my eyes off you…you’re like heaven to touch …) at Hard Rock café.

:)  During our R&R, the admin treated us with sumptuous dinner as we cruise along the Chao Phraya river.

:) It was also my first time to experience water festival or Songkran (New Year) in Thailand. My friend and I spent it at Chang Mai (another big city in Bangkok)

MA ECE :) mazel tov!
:)   I woke up at around 5 am every day for work. I took #63 bus which will stop at Bangkapi mall. From Bangkapi mall, I will transfer to bus #95 which will take me to my school, then another ride going inside the street or Soi.  It was such a great experience.

:) I went to Pattaya with my friends and enjoyed the beaches.

:)  I organized a Share-a-Heart Program for the street kids (Tahanan ng mga Kabataan)  with the help of my sister. It was also the moment she found the love of her life--> Kuya Bau, who donated dinero for the said event. Giving back is always a balm to the spirit.

:) My friend Mya got accepted as a teacher in US. I was feeling so down and alone that I decided to go back home. Oh, well I did! Then I took up Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. I did not work for a year.

summer in Surigao
Washington, baby!
:) Then a friend I met in grad school asked me to apply in St. Mary’s School. Luckily and blessed by God, I got a job as a Nursery teacher. I was in that school for 4 years. From being a Nursery teacher, I moved up as a Kinder 2 teacher for 3 years.

:)   I finished my Masters Degree in ECE and at the same time, I found the love of my life in the most unusual circumstances. We officially became an item and decided to tie the knot after 2 years. I am so happy that God healed my wounded heart and sent someone that I could love until forever.
as a college instructor

:) I decided to step up and to move closer to my dream. I enrolled in a Phd program (Doctor of Philosophy in Education) and finished all the subject courses. I intend to finish my dissertation early next year.

:) During my 20-29th years, I was able to travel in different places.  From Davao, Baguio, Camiguin, Vigan, Manila, Cebu, Mis.Occ, Bukidnon, Surigao to Bangkok and Chaing Mai… Then just November last year, my husband and I traveled to the United States (San Antonio, Florida, New York, Maryland and Washington) I will have a separate post for this.

:)  I was able to teach in college as a part time instructor teaching Art Ed and Curriculum Development.

my dream come true moment!
:)  My dream-come-true moment! I walked down the aisle wearing my white bridal gown and married the man I chose to love FOREVER
      (I was 28 years old)

:) My husband and I are happily married. We got our first big purchase: a car!

hubby!

:) I got pregnant right after we got married….but lost our honeymoon baby  at 10 weeks. Sad moment in my life :(

:)  But God is always good; He blessed us with another angel this year. :) I pray that everything will be alright and that we will see our little one in July.

Whoa! That was quite a long and happy journey. I never thought I could come up with that long list. Indeed, I can really say that my 20-29th years were not at all wasted. I had a grand time, eh? Cheers to life!

n.b. I have lots of photos to post but there's no more space so I just chose some of it  to be posted. :)
