It’s a beautiful sunny morning here in the city
of Golden friendship although my heart longs for a relaxing, quiet moment in my
sweet Bukidnon home.
I haven’t blogged lately due to my slacker
attitude. Haha! But really, I have been meaning to post something every month
but most of the times laziness always
got the better of me.
Anyway, I have been very busy lately juggling
work, studies and wedding preparation. Most of my weekends are spent with my
fiancé trying to figure out how to do about our wedding and yes, trying to play
around our budget. At first, I actually have so many ideas in my mind that I
wanted everything to be in detailed. That whatever comes into my mind should be
included but then when we laid out the expenses, I found out that it is nearly
close to impossible. At first, I felt disappointed of not getting what I want
but at the end, I realized that there are more important things in life after
the wedding and that spending too much for lavish decors will not help us later
on. What is far more important on our wedding day is the presence of family and
friends.
Preparing for the most awaited moment in our
lives is really challenging and exciting at the same time. I love it that Bee
(my fiancé) and I are very hands-on on the preparation. We even did not think
of hiring a wedding coordinator. Going through one couture to the other,
deciding on what cake to order (fondant or not, chiffon or mousse, with
extender or not) choosing the lay out for the invitations, the kind of cloth
for the entourage (US chiffon, two tone, or georgette), and deciding on what
flowers to order from the florist makes us more responsible adults. It makes us
draw more closer with each other and although there are petty quarrels and
spats, we still find meaning in everything that we do. Those petty quarrels
make us realize that life is not at all sugar and spice and that in the course
of our relationship, there will be moments that settling our differences is
very challaneging task to do. :)
