thank you, September!

It’s a cold, rainy afternoon here in sweet ol’ bukidnon home. My little boy Nate is with his Tita Em.  It feels like my rest day today since Em takes charge in babysitting. Early this morning, I was able to do other things like cleaning our room, pumping milk and sterilizing bottles among others. I am blessed that I have the support of my family when it comes in child rearing/childcare.

Whenever I have some important matters to deal with in the city, my mother or my aunt take turns in taking care of my little boy. I think my husband and I made the right decision in moving back to my parents’ place.

Anyway, the month of September rolled  by pretty fast this year. Baby Nate was baptized middle of this month and we welcome him to the Christian world. We pray that he will become a good Christian boy and that he will live by Christ’s words/examples. My doting husband also turned a year older a day before Baby Nate’s baptism. I wish him good health and more years of happiness with us, his family and friends and his work.

I am grateful for the happy surprises that the month of September brought me and my little family. Even though we kinda ran short of money, we were able to stretch it to the last day with a few bucks left in our pockets. Nevertheless, it was replenished at the end of the month with a ‘surprise’.  Thanks for the tax adjustment in my hubby’s salary. Now, we have enough moolah to buy baby’s daily needs like diapers, milk, wet wipes and cotton among others. But of course, we also need to set aside for our savings. It is quite impossible to save these days but we have to or else we will go hungry when rainy days set in.

I am also thankful that at long last I am done with the comprehensive exam and I passed all the subjects especially Statistics and Research. Aside from the written exam in Philo, I also took the oral exam since Dr. Magtrayo was not that satisfied with my answers. However, I am thankful because with that oral exam I learned a lot not just with the subject matter per se but with real “life” as well. He advised me to keep on dreaming and to keep on growing professionally. I always love my Philo class with Dr. Magtrayo because everything he taught us in class can be applied in real life situations.

Another surprise came in at the end of the month. Days before that news came, I was really sad because I know it is quite impossible for me to go on with school. The tuition fee in grad school skyrocketed and I know hubby’s salary is not enough to cover my tuition fees since we have other bills to pay. But God is good and He heard my prayers!

Again, I thank my family for their unflagging support to me when it comes to education. It will be a challenging year but I will push through and reach for my dreams. I also pray that I will get a job next year. For now, I am happy being with my little boy. I love being a mama to him!

Thank God for September! For the happy surprises and prayers heard…
